AVIATION ALUMNI ACTIVITIES

The Aviation Department receives a new teaching aid...a J-34 cut-away jet engine.
Mr. Keith Parker, a 1990 graduate of our aviation program, volunteered his time an services free of charge to pickup and deliver this J-34 jet engine that will be used as an instructional aid in our Aviation 416, Turbine Engine course as well as other selected courses. Keith arranged the loan of this engine from the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, FL. Keith is a fomer 11 year Naval Officer and "Tom Cat" pilot. He has been recently hired by Delta and will be flying 737s based out of Orlando, FL. When ever Keith is in town we ask him to come speak to our classes to give our students the latest "inside knowledge" s to waht it takes to be successful in aviation today. We wish to publicly thank Keith and the entire Parker family for their unwavering support of ULM's Aviation Program.
The following pictures show the arrival, unloading, and temporary storage of the J-34.
